Wow, has this ever been a hard week for Taylor Hall. Not only did he just barely escape a career ending injury but following the 6th and final goal for the Calgary Flames, Hall was shown clearly mouthing what can best be described as a statement critical of coach Renney pulling Devan Dubnyk prior to the 6th goal. Now, I’m a family man so no need in going any further.
I agree entirely with Hall’s assessment, what exactly was Renney trying to prove. I can’t believe that I am about to say this but I’m starting to miss Craig MacTavish. Well at least until I remember having to watch him continually change lines (aka the MacBlender), play Toby Petersen and put together a horrendous powerplay.
Needless to say, it appears that Edmonton has grown tired of the Tambellini/Renney tandem. It has come to a point where I can’t even stand watching Renney’s post game conferences. Are the players in the same boat, gosh I hope not or this season is about to get way worse.
This brings me to the purpose of this article, a description of the year ahead. My articles will try and offer you what many of the professional/real scribes cannot, an honest critique of the Oilers. These articles will focus on trade rumours/ trades, games and the coaching/management staff. Please join me in what is shaping up to be a long and painful journey.
