This Examiner would like your feedback. The city of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Stock Show made a few changes this year and I would like to know how you felt about them. First, let me explain that as I understand it these changes were not made from tax payer money. They were paid for by the Stock Show after paying for their expenses of the show. The Stock Show is a non-profit organization and all monies after expenses go into the upkeep and changes of the Will Rogers Complex which is owned by the city.
Now to the changes – the new Equestrian Building at the southeast corner of the Will Rogers Complex at University Dr. and Hurley. What are you impressions of the new building and did you enjoy touring the building and watching the exhibits there? If you will remember, this was a one level parking lot before.
Next was the change of Hurley Street into what is now Trail Road which added more parking, more places for livestock exhibitors to house their animals outside and greater walkways to and from the Complex. What was your impression of the new space and did you find that it helped the parking congestion?
Next was “Score It” – did you enjoy playing along with trying to judge scores and times as they were happening?
Next were the changes to the Parade. The new route cannot really be commented on as the changes in Sundance Square to add more variety to the area forced it over one block. However, they added reserve viewing stands on Commerce Street so that you didn’t have to hunt for a place to watch the parade go by. Did you take advantage of these stands? Did you feel that having to go to the ticket office to get your reserve seats was easy or not so much? If you went and got your reserved seats at the ticket office did you also get rodeo tickets while you were there? What was your overall impression of the Parade?
