“What’s Your Excuse?” a Facebook picture is causing quite the ruckus online. Is this mother of three toddler boys posing in a sports bra making fun at fat people? Is she calling people lazy? It doesn’t seem as if she is doing any of the above, but somehow folks took this picture of fitness as some kind of taunt from this young mom, according to Fox News on Oct. 16.
Maria Kang works out, she finds 30 minutes every other day to do so and yes, she’s proud of how her hard work has paid off. When she posted the picture of her and her three sons online, that’s all she was trying to say. “What’s Your Excuse?” got 16,000 comments, many from people who were negative about this photo and choice of caption for the picture.
Kang appeared on Fox News Wednesday and she was a bit perplexed about all the negativity around the picture. Kang looks fantastic and she feels great too. Some have quipped that she should spend time with her kids instead of working out.
Her reply to this was priceless. Kang said that she works out for just 30 minutes three or four times a week, but she makes the time by getting up early or she’ll work out with her kids mimicking her exercising like a game.
The priceless part of this answer emerged when she said how she brings her kids to the park frequently and she actually interacts with them while they are there. Just look at the moms on benches texting or talking on their phones as they keep an eye on their kids playing. She's right, just check out the nearest park most any time of the day.
She put her mom abilities in perspective for the people who feel for some odd reason that she shouldn’t take the time out to do this for herself when she’s got three kids under the age of three! It makes her feel good and a happy mom is a good mom. Not to mention the great example that she’s setting for her boys.
