After making her film debut in "Confessions of a Teenager Drama Queen" in 2004, Megan Fox quickly rose to fame. It was the character of Mikaela Banes in the blockbuster film "Transformers," however, that proved to be her breakout role. She later reprised the role of Shia LaBeouf when the sequel to the film was released in 2009, that is, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." It certainly seemed that the actress/model was cultivating a career that would rival even the most famous names in Hollywood. In addition to her acting career, she quickly developed a reputation as a popular model and appeared in a number of magazines.
Unfortunately, she and Michael Bay, the director of the "Transformers" franchise, apparently did not see eye to eye. After being quoted as referring to Bay in a less than flattering way in the press, she and the director parted ways following the completion of the second "Transformers" film. Despite the fact that she had been released from the "Transformers" franchise, Fox continued to work on building her acting career and quickly landed the leading role in the film "Jennifer's Body." The script for the film was penned by Diablo Cody, an Academy Award-winning screenwriter.
In the spring of 2009, Fox also began working on the filming of "Jonah Hex," a film in which she portrayed the character of Leila. This time period in Fox's life proved to be quite busy as she reunited with her former fiancé, Brian Austin Green. The couple later became engaged once again and married in a private ceremony in Hawaii in the summer of 2010. During this time, Fox continued working on her acting career and appeared in "Passion Play" with Mickey Rourke. She also voiced a character in "Na Naj'a Legend of the Dolphins." Other well-known actors voicing characters in the documentary film included Kate Winslet, Cheech Marin, Daryl Hannah, and Whoopi Goldberg. She also appeared in a music video for "Love the Way You Lie."
Although large roles did not come her way during this time, Fox did make a brief appearance in "The Dictator," a comedy costarring Sacha Baron Cohen. She also landed a feature role in the Judd Apatow comedy "This Is 40," as well as a role in "Friends with Kids." Other than these roles, Fox took a step back from the media spotlight for much of 2012 while pregnant with her first child. In September of 2012, she voiced Lois Lane in the movie "Robot Chicken." It was also around this time that Fox and her husband welcomed the birth of their son, Noah Green.
Immediately following the birth of her son, Fox took some time off from her career to spend time with her family, but she did appear in a television commercial for a Brazilian beer in January of 2013. The commercial appears to have been the opening salvo in her quest to relaunch her career. It was recently announced that Fox and Michael Bay have resolved their differences and will be working together once again. Fox has been cast in the role of April O'Neil in the upcoming remake of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." According to reports, it was actually Fox who made the first move to set aside her former differences with Bay. Regardless of how the two managed to clear the air, Fox is now set to appear as the very attractive reporter O'Neil in what is described to be a live-action/computer-animated version of "Ninja Turtles."
There had previously been some doubt as to whether the film was actually going to happen at all after the scheduled shoot date of October 2012 was delayed. Now that word has been released that Fox will be filling an important role in the film, it seems that everything is once again moving on the right track. The film is now scheduled to be released in theaters just in time for the holiday season.
Fans who just simply cannot get enough of the brunette bombshell will have to wait until the film's release to see more of Fox. She also appears on the February 2013 cover of "Esquire" magazine and gives a revealing interview that touches on everything from her feelings about fame to her Christianity and faith in God. There is no word yet whether Fox has any other film roles lined up following her performance in the new "Ninja Turtles" movie, but it would certainly seem that she is working diligently at cultivating a promising career.
