The coming week's forecast shows lots of sunny days on the horizon. This prediction spells nothing but great news for the 20th Annual Taste of Yountville, scheduled to occur March 14 through 16. The shindig goes into overdrive on Saturday, 3/16, when many vintners and restaurateurs are offering tastings of their best vintages and specialties.
Like we have mentioned in earlier postings, in terms of shopping and dining, Yountville has all the gentrified sensibilities of its neighboring towns, St. Helena and Napa. But thanks to its location, the city feels less hectic, although it is only a few shorts blocks from Highway 29, the main artery connecting visitors with the constellation of vineyards in the Napa Valley. Yountville's main drag, Washington St, will be where all the action takes place. Wear some comfortable walking shoes and maybe even a hat to shade yourself from the sun rays during your stroll.
Admission is free but tastings cost, typically a nominal fee. Here's how it works: Wineries and restaurants will man booths along Washington St. offering tastings for a certain number of tasting tickets. You buy the tasting tickets in increments of $1 each at the Chamber of Commerce's booth.
Special treat for Facebook users!
