What's on tonight: 'Cat People' and 'Curse of the Cat People'

Wondering what to watch tonight, July 27? If you love both classic cinema and horror movies, then you'll want to catch TCM's Essentials Jr tonight at 8 p.m. ET. The channel is airing a double feature of the classic horror movies, "Cat People" and "Curse of the Cat People."

Actor and Comedian Bill Hader is the presenter of TCM''s Essentials Jr, a Sunday night film thing that happens around 8 p.m. ET. It was created to get kids and well families together to watch some classic movies. The 2014 edition of Essentials Jr started on June 1 and was schedule to air 14 movies. It's a great program to get children into classic movies and a good way to decide on what to watch for a family move night.

So "Cat People," is going to air tonight at 8 p.m. The 1942 film was directed by Jacques Tourneur and it starred Simone Simon, Tom Conway, and Jane Randolph. Val Lewton had produced the movie that looks at a young woman, who fears a family curse. The movie is good because it's a what if, they go with don't show, like the audience figure that part out. The movie was also remade in the 80s.

At 9:30 p.m. the sequel "Curse of the Cat People" is going to air. Gunther V. Fritsch directed the movie and once again the famous name of classic horror, Val Lewton produced it. Simone Simon came back for the sequel and Kent Smith and Jane Randolph also came back for the movie.
