Here’s a look at some local brew events occurring this weekend:

The Cambridge House, Torrington, CT:   Friday July 16th the Alumni of the Gilbert School will be hosting a silent auction to benefit "The Ean Clough" memorial scholarship fund. The event is open to the public 6-9pm. Willis Whalen of the NFL players Association will be donating autographed items from the NFL. The CBH will throw in a FREE PINT to all who participate in the auction. Specials this weekend include Lobster Creme Brulee and Shrimp Cakes.

Nathan Hale Restaurant, Storrs, CT:   Sunday July 18, the Nathan Hale Restaurant in Storrs is having their second Thomas Hooker Beer Dinner. The evening features Five Thomas Hooker beers paired with five courses. $60 per person, please call for reservations (860)427-7888. Seating is limited. The Vermont Brewers Festival, Burlington, VT: The event is taking place in Burlington, VT on Fri July 16 from 6-10 and Saturday July 17 – with two Saturday sessions 12-4 and 6-10. The event features a dozens of New Emgland Breweries including Connecticut’s own Olde Burnside Brewing Company
