Celebrate the opening of the 2013/14 season of the Marin Symphony with their “Waterfront Pops,” open air concert by the lagoon at Marin Civic Center. Enjoy the classic movie soundtracks of John Williams in the open air. Fireworks follow.
And if all that wasn’t enough, come to Weill Hall at the Green Music Center in Rohnert Park for a thrilling afternoon concert by the reigning American diva, Renee Fleming. Last year President Obama presented Ms. Fleming with this nation’s highest award in the arts. She will be performing the music of Handel, Puccini, Rodgers and Hammerstein and Strauss, to mention just a few. This concert marks the first anniversary of the opening of Weill hall, no considered one of the finest music venues in the world. If you have lawn tickets, bring a picnic and soak up the last of the summer.
