On Monday, Rey Mysterio Jr. informed the public that he was heading to see the surgeon for another possible ACL tear. Rey, who has been hampered by injuries over the last few years of his career, remained positive despite the latest setback. It appears that his positive attitude paid off. According to a March 7th report by FW4Online.com, renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews believes that Rey will not need surgery and could actually return to wrestling as long as he wears a special knee brace.
This is huge news for the WWE, who has remained very loyal to Rey over the years despite all of his injuries. The last we saw of Rey on WWE TV, he was being destroyed by a returning Mark Henry roughly one month ago.
Mysterio is still a very popular wrestler with the WWE Universe and his presence is needed. For the last two WrestleManias, the WWE has wanted to do something significant with Mysterio, but due to injuries, they have been unable to.
If Rey is able to get in the ring soon, with the help of a knee brace, there will be a strong chance that he could make some sort of appearance at WM 29 on April 7th. Perhaps, in a match that has multiple participants to prevent him from having to do a lot of work.
