So UFC 158 came and past with no unusual surprises. GSP dominated Nick Diaz like he was supposed to, and the co main event of the evening between Johnny Hendricks and Carlos Condit stole the show. The only question left to ask now is what's next for these fighters?
For welterweight champion GSP his next match will likely be against Johnny Hendricks as long as GSP does not decide he wants to fight Anderson Silva next at Madison Square Garden to close out 2013.
For Nick Diaz, well he is deciding wether or not he wants to retire. Knowing Nick he will be back in the octagon later this year as long as he does not fail his drug test. A rematch with striker Robiie Lawler may be a match that interests Diaz.
Johnny Hendricks has earned himself a title shot by beating Carlos Condit, but if GSP chooses to fight Anderson Silva, I can see Hendricks fighting Jake Ellenberger or Nick Diaz.
Carlos Condit has never looked more impressive in two consecutive losses. I think the best fight for him is his original opponent for UFC 158 in Rory McDonald.
For Jake Ellenberger there is not a lot of top fighters out there for him to fight right now. A possible matchup with Condit or Tarec Saffedine are the only fights that make sense right now.
With Nate Marquardt losing Saturday night that makes two in a row. If the UFC does not cut him, I can see a possible matchup between Marquardt and Josh Koscheck or maybe a rematch against Tyron Woodley.
