There's never a dull moment in the DTGVL! It's Thanksgiving week, so let the good times roll! Take a break from the Turkey and check out what's happening this week in Downtown Greenville.

Monday is for Music Lovers and The Handlebar aims to please. Check out Philip Roebuck and special guest, Filthy Still. Their special brand of rock is certain to get your adreneline into high gear.

On Tuesday, kids can get in the Thanksgiving spirit at The Children's Museum with some Pumpkin Spice Play Dough Play or create a masterpiece with Turkey Prints. Grown-ups can "Drink and Be Merry" on canvass at Design with Wine. And those in the Service Industry can enjoy drink specials and the musical talent of local favorite, Charles Hedgepath at Smiley's Acoustic Cafe.

Wednesday plays host to a few "Pre-Thanksgiving" parties - including the Thanksgiving Eve Party with DJ Noble at On The Roox. If you want live music, get ready for Turkey Day with Mighty McFly at Wild Wing Cafe or with Red Against Green at Chicora Alley. Craving something a little more "down home"? Then swing by The Handlebar and two-step to the tunes of The Piedmont Boys, with special guests Hammerdown and The Smith Outfit.

Just because Thursday is Thanksgiving Day, doesn't mean you have to stay home. The Green Room, High Cotton and Spoonbread Restaurant will all be serving Thanksgiving menus. Several bars, including Sharkey's Pub, Sky Sports Bar, Blue Ridge Brewing and On The Roxx will be opening later that evening. Families can enjoy Cirque du Soliel at the BILO Center or be among the first to view the St. Francis "Festival of Trees" at various locations Downtown.

Start off "Black Friday" with a little ice skating at Ice on Main at Village Green. Later that night, enjoy the blues magic of Wolfman and Merck at Brown Street Club. Afterwards, "Rock the Casbah" (and big 80's hair) with Retro Vertigo at The Handlebar, or head to Corner Pocket for Face First, Chicora Alley for The Jaywalkers, Nose Dive for Spencer Rush or The Velo Fellow for Jason Phillips and Monty Craig's Funk Shua Loop Duo. That ought to shake you outta your turkey coma!

Saturday means college football and in these parts, that means Clemson vs. Carolina! Round up your pals and cheer for the Tigers or the Gamecocks at your favorite DTGVL sports bar. Then, celebrate your victory or forget your sorrows at Chicora Alley with The Bad Popes, at The Velo Fellow with JWE Trio or at On The Roxx with Almost Steve. If jazz is more your thing, chill out with the Jamie Wright Experience at High Cotton or Troy House at Smiley's Acoustic Cafe, The HooDoo Hounds at Brown Street Club or Craig Sorrells at The Handlebar.

Sundays are never boring Downtown!
