After a day of running errands with my dear friend, Aly, the old tummy started rumbling.. As per usual the conversation contained some of the common threads " where do you want to eat", "what sounds good" "don't care"... This could have ended ugly with a drive through sandwich or a too-often visited local taste trap...but not with Aly. She knows my penchant for extreme gastronomic pleasure and would not settle for our first shared meal in months to be a simple, " eh"...As we foraged through the Turnip Truck looking for my annual supply of Adzuki beans ( I buy in bulk) she began to softly chant " Silly Goose, Silly Goose"... slightly offended I began to explain the healthful benefits of these tasty little proteinacious and fiberful red beans...Giggling, she politely corrected my erroneous assumption that she could possibly be referring to Me... The Silly Goose, she advised, is a drooler's dream of exotic flavors in surprising combinations that go beyond trendy and hip and hit the stratosphere of unlikely couplings...so, saliva flowing, we took seats within the tiny eating spot at 1888 Eastland Ave, Nashville, TN 37206, (615) 915-0757, http://sillygoosenashville.com/
The Silly Goose is a food critic's worst nightmare. Food critics love fine food, the exploration of creative talents that birth delights for the tongue, but they also love critiquing the food. Nothing is so delightful than finding something wrong with a perfectly plated orgasmic miracle of magically combined ingredients...THEY WON"T find it at The Silly Goose... The first bite was as astonishing as the last. I haven't the words to describe the multitude of tastes held within one single dish..more than the number of Chinese dialects! Thanks for the most surprising and delightful lunch I have ever had...
