What's different in the new Miiverse update?

If you own a Wii U, you've probably heard of Miiverse and might have used it a few times. If you aren't familiar with Miiverse, it's Nintendo's small social networking platform for Wii U owners where gamers can discuss specific game titles and franchises. Miiverse is coming to mobile platforms as an app before the end of the year. On March 13, Nintendo released a new update for Miiverse which makes the service much more simplified in a few ways.

One of the main changes in the Miiverse update is that you can now view every single post you've ever given a "Yeah!" too. A "Yeah!" is similar to Facebook's "Like" button if you aren't familiar with the overall concept. By seeing all of the posts you found interesting, you won't have to dig through communities ever again just to see a drawing that you enjoyed.

Another change that Miiverse received is the ability to choose who can respond to your posts. In the past, anyone could respond to any post within any given community. With this new update, gamers can now choose if the post is available to everyone or only available to people who own the software their posting about. This will cut down a lot of ignorance and confusion from gamers as people would usually comment on posts about how they want a certain game when the original post is looking for help. With certain posts available to specific groups, this will improve stability and give gamers much more control.

The last change that Nintendo brought to Miiverse was remembering your preference for viewing posts. In the past, you'd usually have to click back to the posts you normally see. Not every gamer checks the top of the screen to check if Miiverse remembered their choice. Now that Miiverse remembers where you left off, gamers won't have to wait much longer to view the posts that they were originally looking for.

Miiverse is expected to bring more major changes in the next few months but it's nice to see that small changes like these are finally coming to light on Wii U systems. Once Miiverse is brought to PC and mobile platforms, the changes will be dramatic and could possibly look entirely different. Remember to keep on checking Miiverse for new changes every week.
