What's Beer Sprocket? Only a great beer tasting event, duh

People often ask me about beer tastings and beer dinners throughout the year. They always want to know how to find out about them…the where are they or the when are they? I try to keep people up to date as much as possible, but sometime certain events slip through the cracks. People, get your pens and paper ready, because here’s some information on an upcoming beer tasting that’s sure to be a great time.

The Second Annual World Class Beer Tasting Event in Greater OKC is about to happen. Get ready for Beer Sprocket. On Saturday, April 16th, 2011 from 4:00–9:00 p.m. a special beer and food event know as Beer Sprocket will be the must catch event of April.

Beer Sprocket is the brainchild of Old Germany in Choctaw and will be held at the Choctaw Creek Park Pavilion on 1900 N. Harper Road, the home of Choctaw’s Oktoberfest. Spring is a perfect time for an outdoor beer tasting. There will be an outstanding selection of over 100 beers from around the world and delectable foods from Old Germany Restaurant as well as several other local OKC restaurants.

You can purchase your Beer Sprocket tickets now through April 14th  www.oldgermany.com. There will be no DAY OF event ticket sales. The ticket price is $50 and includes: Old Germany’s food as well as several other OKC restaurants, live music from Stage Country and samples of 100 world class import and craft beers!

Not only will you get food, fun and beer, your ticket purchase will also benefit some great local organizations. You’ll be helping the Rotary Club of East Oklahoma County and their efforts toward the world wide eradication of Polio, the 3rdGrader’s First Dictionary program, Bucks for Bikes with the Salvation Army, The Infant Crisis Center and also Shelter Boxes for families affected by natural disasters.

The people of Old Germany help in putting on a great Oktoberfest, and this should be no different. Whatever they do, it’s always first-class. I encourage everyone to attend. Great beer, great food and great weather make for a great time. For any additional information please contact Mike Turek at old Germany Restaurant by phone 405-390-8647 or via e-mail mike@oldgermany.com.

Cheers!
