What Rick Warren says about 'The Bible' series

Rick Warren of Saddleback Church in California gave a very positive comment about "The Bible" series, according to The Christian Post.

The popular pastor said it was by far the best Bible movie he has ever seen.

Warren said:

"I have seen probably every film made on the Bible in the last 50 years. This is by far the best one."

The 10-hour series premiered on March 3 and will conclude on Easter Sunday, March 31. Each Sunday has a 2-hour episode of stories from Genesis to Revelation.

Warren eagerly promoted the project created by TV producers Mark Burnett and his wife, Roma Downey. Before "The Bible" series aired on Sunday, he had shown his congregation a behind-the-scenes look at its production.

Warren endorsed the series by stating:

"One way to build a bridge between God's Word and the issues of our day is to tie a sermon series into some cultural event, something that has already caught the attention of many people."

The History channel scored big with the first airing with 13.1 million people viewing the movie.

Watch "The Bible" series on the History channel on Sunday from 8-10 p.m.
