As I look at our city, there are many families and marriages that are in trouble. When I see the state of these relationships, I wonder what legacy these parents are leaving for their children and grandchildren. What lessons are they teaching when they act in anger and bitterness? What are they teaching when they only look out for themselves? What is the outcome of letting pride get in the way of forgiveness?
Now, I don't necessarily blame these parents. Many of them are acting on what they were taught by their parents. At some point, though, the cycle needs to be broken.
For the next couple of articles I am going to be dealing with how we can leave a positive, God-honoring legacy that will last for generations to come.
