What is Ultrasound Massage?

One of the newest trends in the field of massage is the use of ultrasound massage. Most often used to care for the skin, those who have received an ultrasound massage claim it is one of the most invigorating experiences they've ever had..

How Does Ultrasound Massage Work

Ultrasound massage works by allowing tiny energy pulses to travel through the skin. These tiny pulses move in miniature circles and move so quickly they can hit the skin anywhere from 1 to 1.8 million times per minute. The pressure from the pulses works to speed up blood flow through the capillaries beneath the surface of the skin and can also smooth the spaces between the skin cells, allowing for a smoother exterior appearance.

The term massage is slightly misleading in this sense. While you are technically massaging the capillaries and cells beneath the surface of the skin, an ultrasound massage does not feel like a massage in the traditional sense of the word. Even still, the claimed benefits are generally worth the time (and money) spent.
