Customer service is a tricky department to deal with. Sometimes you may get the help you need right away, and other time it doesn't go as smoothly. Bad customer service experiences are one of the top reasons a consumer will take their business elsewhere to a competitor, never to return. In fact, a majority of those who left for other companies say they would even pay more for the same goods or services if there was a guarantee of better customer service.
Customer expectations of customer service a greatly evolving thanks to the connectivity of social media. Now we are just a tweet away from our favorite, or least favorite, companies. Just a short time ago, it was a pleasant surprise to get a reply from a company when one tweeted a complaint about services. Now however, a reply, apology, and maybe even a coupon or two, is expected from disgruntled customers with a Twitter account.
