NSFW is shorthand for Not Safe For Work and is often stamped on links that may contain sexually-explicit material or profanity-laced audio. It is basically a warning sign telling you to take care if you are opening link at work, especially if your supervisor is standing over your shoulder. (Unless, of course, your supervisor is in to that kind of thing, in which case NSFW could be good for your career.)
There are some variants to NSFW such as PNSFW, which means probably NSFW. Or, in other words, it depends on how cool your supervisor and co-workers are in regards to the upcoming sexually-explicit rhetoric on the meaning of various four-letter words. Some people also label links as SFW if it is safe to view in the workplace, but that should be implied, shouldn't it? Or should I be describing CNN as cnn.com (sfw)? (Of course, if your boss is a conservative, CNN might not be safe for work.)
