What is metaphysics?

Metaphysics is a subject often misunderstood, feared, or ignored.

However, as the consciousness of humanity is elevated, people are gaining more interest in their life purposes, spiritual journeys, and overall connection to an infinitely wise universe.

Metaphysics is a path to exploring those concepts.

According to Jason Randhawa, the term can be described as such:

Metaphysics is defined as the branch of philosophy that examines the true nature of reality, whether visible or invisible. Metaphysics includes the relationship between mind and matter, substance and attribute, and fact and value. Basically, metaphysics is the philosophical study of being and knowing.

Etymologically, the origin of the word metaphysics is derived from early books written by the Greek philosopher Aristotle. His work, The Metaphysics, covered three disciplines related to metaphysics:

1. Ontology - the study of being or existing
2. Theology - the study of God or gods
3. Universal science - the study of underlying principles related to a unified cosmic reality

Those who seek answers about life, as well as modern-day metaphysicians, study metaphysics as a way to investigate principles that transcend physical reality or compartmentalized science.

The New Age Movement and self-improvement industry are both ushering in a greater awareness of truth, often through the study of metaphysics.

People who condemn metaphysics may feel that it contradicts their religion. Metaphysics is not a religion nor does it subscribe to any particular affiliation. The philosophy moves beyond those boundaries in an effort to describe the interrelations among all of life.

Metaphysics delves into the realms of concepts such as the following: quantum physics, energetic vibrations, angels and other spirit guides, astral travel, collective unconscious, the law of attraction, holographic grids, mind/body connection, indigo children and starseeds, and the myth, math, and metaphors related to our reality.
