Here is a picture of Sammy Sosa years ago and beside it is a photo that was taken last week at the Latin Grammy Awards.
Many rumors are swirling that Sosa may be bleaching his skin or has vitiligo the condition that the late Michael Jackson was suffering from. Other rumors say that the lighter skin has to do with playing baseball all those years in the hot sun and other rumors are saying that it has something to do with the use of steroids in the past.
Former Chicago Cubs employee Rebecca Polihronis, who talks frequently with Sosa, told the Chicago Tribune,
"He's not trying to be Michael Jackson, he is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin. Women have it all of the time. He was surprised he came out looking so white. I thought it was a body double. Part of [the photo appearance] is just the lighting." Polihronis said Sosa told her the photos are deceiving.
"He was doing a dermatological skin process after years and years [of playing baseball] in the sun," Polihronis said. "It did come out looking weird" in the photos.
I have looked closely at the photos and agree that the photos are very deceiving. It looks like overexposure on the photographers part. It even looks as if Sammy Sosa's eyes are green in the photo which they are clearly not green. This happens every so often when taking photos, it even happens with digital cameras. So perhaps Sosa got a chemical peel before going to the Latin Grammys and a photographer took a poorly lit picture which made him look more washed out than he was.

Funny how he does not have an afro anymore. His hair is straight. I think their is something fishy. Why can't a person just be happy with who they are. I thought he looked much better as a black man.
he looked better in the past as Flip Wilson.....now he looks like a combo of MJ, Marc Anthony, and the Joker
Actually, the green eyes are not a lighting fault. For some reason, Sammy has decided green contacts were the way to go in the past few years.
He looks really odd and I hope it is just a combination of chemical peeels and bad lighting.
Wow. You can really see the difference in the side by side photos.
I saw this on Inside Edition last night. Weird, huh?
It's not a very good endorsement for the chemical peel if it did that to him. Hopefully it's the lighting.
