“Now this, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.” – Hebrews 12:27
God is doing a new thing in His creation—not just within His children, but those who are yet to come into sonship with Him though Jesus Christ. Heaven and earth are being shaken with the declaration of the Creator, which was spoken in the days of old, and has been re-released for such a time as this! Isaiah holds this ancient truth: “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19).
The Greek word for “removal” as used in this verse is metathesis (pr. met-ath-es-is), and means “disestablishment.” The “things” that are being shaken are pragma (pr. prag-mah), which are “deeds, affairs, matter, to perform repeatedly or habitually.” And those things “shaken,” the saleuo (pr. saleuo), are being “agitated, toppled, destroyed” (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance).
What danger are you flirting with, my brother? What matter has you bound, my sister? What affairs of the heart have you voting against your conscience, family? This is a time of great awakening! Do not be found asleep when the trumpet blasts! Cry out and allow God to shake you to your core, so that every ungodly performance, every stronghold, and every destructive habit will be toppled, destroyed, reduced to rubble, and blown away by the wind of God’s Holy Spirit.
This country is being shaken like never before! The world is experiencing a trembling. “Fear not!” proclaims the Lord, “For I must disestablish those false and ungodly things that have been allowed to spring up, take root, take over, and grow. Now I will disestablish these foul things which have come before me as a stench unto My nostrils, so that I can reestablish My things that will never be shaken. I must uproot so that I can root my righteousness! For I, the Ancient of Days, have spoken in the days of old and for such a time as this: ‘And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious’” (Isaiah 11:10).
Matthew 7:24-27 sounds the alarm throughout all of heaven and earth, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Cry out! Cry out! Cry out! Cry out for a great awakening and a holy shaking in you and in your life; so that all which remains in you is the Image of Jesus Christ, the Unshakable One, Who created you and is your sure foundation.
Father, thank You for Your great awakening and shaking. Shake everything off of us that has deceived, hindered, bound, and kept us from being who you called us to be. Remove all fear from our hearts, as you do the necessary work in us; for in You is no fear. Bring us out, Oh God, through Your great shaking! For You are the God of our Salvation! In Jesus Name, we thank You for shaking every ungodly thing off us so that we are firmly established in You. Amen and Amen.
Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to allow God to shake every false mindset, every wrong attitude, every destructive habit, all lust of the eyes, and the pride of life off of you. Determine to allow God to shake you, so that all which remains is unshakable because it is established in the root of Jesse, Who is Jesus Christ. And continue to fight the good fight of allowing your Creator to shake you loose of the world’s ways; for God, your Unshakable Savior, has already given you the victory!
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!
