What I learned about Jesus through The Israel Connection Part 2!

So, in the first part of this article on the lesson entitled, “The Israel Connection,” I mentioned why Israel was regathered, as a nation, to her Promised Land and concluded, from the Bible, that it was hers from the beginning (Genesis 17:7 – 8, NKJV). Now, I want to address how Israel was (and still is in the process of being) regathered to her rightful homeland. Again, I mentioned previously that Israel was scattered (referred to as the Jewish Diaspora), primarily for her disobedience to God in disregarding their covenant obligations, and, consequently, the “land of Israel was overrun by Gentiles” (Jeremiah, 2008). In fact, God warned Israel, speaking through Moses, in Deuteronomy 4:27, regarding this very matter, stating “And the Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations, where the Lord will drive you” (NKJV). God also told Israel, “And among those nations you shall find no rest, nor shall the sole of your foot have a resting place; but there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes, and anguish of soul” Deuteronomy 28:65, NKJV). And indeed, Israel suffered tremendously during the Diaspora, which included the dreadful Holocaust, perpetrated by Nazi Germany in World War II. I remember visiting Washington, D.C. in 1995, with my wife, Janice, and visiting the Holocaust Memorial…What an unforgettably agonizing experience that was!

Nevertheless, God promises to “…recover the remnant of His people who are left…and to gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the Earth” (Isaiah 11:11 – 12, NKJV). And the realization of that great promise will not be totally fulfilled until God establishes His Millennial Reign of peace (Revelation 20:1 – 6, NKJV). Yet even today, Jews are returning to their homeland, in droves, from all over the world. One organization that I am particularly proud of and support, in this effort, is the International Fellowship of Christians & Jews (Wings of Eagles Program), which specifically aids Jews in, all aspects of, the tireless process of immigrating back to Israel. For more information on this amazing Wings of Eagles program and how you can donate to a very worthwhile cause, please click on their website here (

Truly, God is not done with Israel, Friend, and that means He is not done with you or me, for that matter! Have you turned your heart and life over to Him yet? That is my prayer for you and Israel this Easter Holiday. Stay tuned for the next lesson on our journey together with Pastor Jeremiah in the “What in the World is Going On? Bible Study Series---The Crude Awakening…See you then!
