Wine drinkers will be thrilled to discover three distinct wine personalities – on the label and in the bottles – when savoring Caricature’s newest releases.
“Caricature artists do their sketching on paper; winemakers create theirs in the glass,” said Lange Twins Family’s Kendra Lange. “Like caricature sketches, the wines are crafted to embellish a distinctive characteristic to distinguish luscious elements that are quite approachable.”
The estate grown vineyards are in the Lodi and Clarksburg Appellations known for the classic Mediterranean climate.
Lange describes the Caricature Red Blend ($17) as “a blended party in a bottle.” It is a lush blend of cabernet and zin with heaping helpings of cherry, berry fruit and spicy oak notes. The whimsical label puts a smile in the glass.
The 2012 cabernet sauvignon ($17) has a sketch of three wine bandits on the label and symbolizes the treasure in the bottle. An avalanche of juicy black cherry fruit and rich berry aromas capture the essence of the varietal. Chocolate and oak join the flavors of the chorus.
Caricature’s 2012 old vine zinfandel ($17) is jammy with rich blackberry and dark raspberry aromas. Luscious blackberry, rich cherry and hints of baking spice explode on the palate.
