The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service, otherwise known as SCRAPS is on the lookout for the owner of a dog who was severely abused and neglected. They are asking for the public’s help. The animal was found at the beginning of the month in the most horrid of conditions.

A SCRAPS animal protection officer was sent to visit the 1800 block of W. Boone on February 1, 2014. What the officer found once arriving on the scene was appalling. She discovered a male brown and white colored pit bull dog who was severely emaciated with lateral twitching and the inability to raise his head. The dog was said to be approximately 4 years old.

The officer immediately brought the dog to a veterinary clinic. He weighed 56% of what he should have weighed, which was a mere 31 pounds. His condition was so severe that his body temperature did not even register on a thermometer. At the veterinarian’s recommendation, the dog was humanely euthanized.

RCW 16.52.205 states that animal cruelty in the 1st degree is a class C Felony. If anyone has information on the owners of this dog, please call anonymously at 509-477-2532. Please help to STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY and help support
