It has been over a week since anyone last saw or spoke to 37-year-old Nichole Burgess. On May 23, a close friend of the pin-up model received a disturbing text from Nikki and police were sent to her Nashville, Tennessee home, where they found her car parked out front, with her purse inside. Inside, the house she normally kept tidy was in disarray, with her two dogs inside. All those who know her say it's not likely she would leave them in the house alone, for any extended time period, without making some kind of arrangements for their care. Additionally, she is the mother of a 10-year-old boy, who was with his father when she disappeared.
Her current boyfriend, Jay Henry, told police he last spoke to her on May 23, around 2 pm. According to him, she was planning to leave Nashville soon after their conversation to visit friends and family, including him, in the Sparta and Crossville areas, around and hour-and-a-half away. "That was the last contact I had with this wonderful, beautiful lady,” he said.
Upon hearing of Nikki's disappearance, a neighbor told police of a strange event, where an unfamiliar car backed into her driveway. While that doesn't seem like much to go on, he seems to think this is uncommon, so it may be something, especially considering it happened the very night Nichole disappeared.
Foul play is suspected, as the whole situation is very unusual, but no person of interest has been officially named. Friends and family have started a Facebook page to draw awareness to Nikki's disappearance, hoping that someone will have seen or spoken to her since she vanished. She is 5'1" tall and weighs 126 pounds, with red hair and several tattoos. Also, she has very unique features, which should make her easily identifiable, if a person were to see her.
One strange coincidence is another woman, also age 37, also named Nicole Burgess, was murdered just over a year ago, in Davidsonville, Maryland. No arrests have been made in her murder, but police do believe they have a person of interest, and are working to bring her case to a close. In the meantime, is there any connection between these two women? Is there someone out there, specifically targeting these women, and if so, for what reason?
A candlelight vigil has been scheduled for June 3 at 8 pm, and is open to all who wish to attend. If you have seen Nikki, or have information on her whereabouts, you are asked to contact Nashville Metro police at (615) 862-8600 or Nashville Crime Stoppers at (615) 742-7463.
Based on the information presented, it seems unlikely that Nikki Burgess just took off on her own accord. Where is she?
