Gilad Shalit is a an Israeli soldier who was kidnapped by Hamas on June 26, 2006.  He was 19 at the time of his abduction and had served only one year in combat forces.  According to the Jewish Virtual Library and various news reports, Shalit was captured in a cross border raid on the Kerem Shalom crossing from the Gaza Strip by Palestinian militants and has been held hostage by Hamas since. Shalit holds dual Israeli and French citizenship which encouraged French and European Union involvement in the efforts to release him.

His abduction, and the following Hezbollah abduction of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev into Lebanon, were key events leading to the summer 2006 conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.

Just over two years later, Goldwasser and Regev were murdered by Hezbollah.  While Israel mourned, Lebanon celebrated their deaths and the Hezbollah terrorists that murdered them.

Almost four years later, Hamas is using Gilad's life as a bargaining chip with Israel.

The Jewish Federaltion of Greater Atlanta issued a letter to President Carter asking him to "truly advance peace and security in this troubled region, and [to] press for...return of...Gilad Shalit..."  The letter was issued on the heels of the release of Carter's book 'Peace not Apartheid.'

For years I was in contact with a man named Yona who lived in Jerusalem. His son has been missing for more than 25 years. They were both US Citizens moved there when the boy, Zach, was 9.He was only 19 and got drafted by the army. Yona died recently not knowing the fate of his son.He spent these last 25 or more years of his life looking for news of his son. He had web site showing him with many dignitaries including former President Clinton.I wrote 100 e-mails,one to each. She indicated she thought he was dead; but Yona never believed that based on his information he got while traveling all over the world trying to get someone to help him find his son who is supposedly being held in Damascus.Arafat once sent him 1/2 of Zach's dog tag. It broke my heart that my new found friend of about 8 years via Internet died not knowing what happened to his son. Pain, sorrow, and love have no bounds in whatever country. I wrote five letters to Carter and he never replied.

If the Muslims laid down their weapons, there would be peace in the Middle East. If the Israelis laid down their weapons, there would be a slaughter.

The muslims are being played just like the rest of us. Carter and his buddies in the Bilderburg Group, Trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, World Bank, IMF and UN are playing their ruthless game with the nations of Earth.

first one tyrant rises then another; then terrorists and Jihadis are propped up to perpetrate their agenda. The players and their relative merit are no more relative than nationality or ethnicity. These people place themselves above both humanity and God. Thier solitary goal is to consolidate all power and wealth into the hands of their eliet cabal and rule all the planet from their own impregnible Mount Olympus from where they arrogantly tinker with the fates of billions.

One thing that Carter, Clinton, Bush, Obama and all the rest ignore is that these cannibals ultimately feed on their own once all their other victims are exhausted.
