What ever happened to .... Wheat germ

Wheat Germ – this one goes back to the 70’s and is believed to be a grain product that could melt away the pounds. It is packed with B vitamins and supposedly revved the metabolism while an oil (octacosanol) boosts muscle stamina. The Vitamin E you get in this will help your skin look younger.

a. It is not a miracle cream to smooth on your face but is worthwhile to have in your pantry. Quarter cup has 4 grams of fiber, a healthy does of fiber, and 25 percent of you daily does of folate and vitamin B6. Toss it on your cereal, smoothie, bread, and muffin. You should store it in the refrigerator so that it does not go rancid and only keep for a year.

b. You can find it at the Healthy Grocer in Mechanicsburg or Appalachian Whole Foods Market In Carlisle and Sunrise Natural Foods in Harrisburg.
