What does the law have to do with me?

May 31 2014, at 9:38 in the morning, a conversation is unfolding with a small group of young people of about 20 between the ages of 13-22. They ask very good questions. Who gets to make the rules anyway? Who has the authority to enforce laws?

Do not run, whisper. Caution: contents may be hot. No loitering. Some of these are rules, some of these are warnings, and some of these are laws. Most of these instructions are for our best interest.
