Spiritual Intelligence is working its way into the ever growing human psyche map. But how does it fit and mostly, what is it?
The gist is Intelligent Quotient, IQ has been a standard for a few decade when measuring raw intelligence. It showed the amount of complexity problem solving a person is theoretically capable of. Then, Emotional Intelligence, or EQ was added and gave an important layer in decoding how a person functions. After all, all intelligence and no heart makes for a cold calculated person, not something most people aspire to. Yet, something was still missing. Introducing, Spiritual Intelligence, or SQ.
Defining SQ. Defining Spiritual Intelligence isn't easy, not is it a practical scale but we need to start somewhere. SQ could be defined as a persons capability of understanding and applying certain basic spiritual laws. The first one that jumps to mind is the well known but often misunderstood law of attraction, or cause and effect, which some refers to as Karma. In essence, to a certain extent we raise our children to become more aware of this principle. By showing them actions have consequences, we establish the foundation that whatever they do has repercussions ion life... sometimes even beyond.
Applying SQ. Whether at work, business or in your personal life, Spiritual Intelligence when coupled to IQ and a strong emotional intelligence foundation can help you build a solid life. At home, it will help you become more aware of dynamics, interactions between members of your household. It will also help you see friendships and your interactions with them with a certain broader perspective. Mostly, at work or conducting your business, a solid SQ will help you shift form short term gains to longer term profitability.
SQ is yet another piece of the puzzle for those of us students of the mind. With enough practice, observation and reflection, it can become an excellent tool in your life. IN the meantime, talk to you Certified Coach about it. You don't know one? Sure you do, Nicolas!
