Sharron Angle (R-NV) the candidate for the US Senate in Nevada, says that she would have never approved of the relief fund for Hurricane Katrina victims in the Gulf States that had massive damage and more than 1300 deaths in August 2005.
Add this to when she said that President Obama was wrong for holding BP accountable for their oil spill this summer and saying that he was wrong for having them set up a $20 billion dollar escrow account to pay for those who lost their jobs and for the clean up. What do you get, you get someone who is Not qualified to be a dog catcher, let alone a US Senator.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) posted the following on his website:
Five Years Ago, Angle Opposed Any Federal Assistance For Victims of Katrina
Angle has already called $20B for BP oil spill victims a “slush fund” and solution to Gulf crisis is total deregulation of big oil
LAS VEGAS – Many Nevadans already understand that Sharron “not my job to create jobs” Angle would do nothing to help them in a tough economy, and has callously called out-of-work Nevadans “spoiled” by the unemployment benefits that continue to put food on their tables in these tough economic times.
On the five-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, it turns out Angle’s deplorable indifference to the plight of struggling Nevadans extends far beyond our state’s borders to others who have fallen on tough times.
During her 2006 failed bid for Congress, Angle callously stated that she would have opposed the $62 billion in federal emergency assistance for Katrina victims. Angle’s rhetoric on Katrina aid closely matches that of her recent statements that $20 billion in relief funds from BP constituted a “slush fund,” and that – despite the widespread human suffering involved – she would oppose such aid on the flimsy basis of not knowing how every single allocated dollar would be spent.
Just how remarkably extreme is Angle’s position on Katrina relief?
More than 400 Republicans and Democrats in the House voted for the Katrina relief package with only 11 dissenters. And the vote in the Senate was a unanimous 97-0. That’s right, Angle would have been the only U.S. Senator to oppose relief for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
This isn’t the first time Angle has shown her true colors in a crisis. Last month, Angle drew national attention when she called private monies pledged by BP to compensate oil spill victims a “slush fund,” and argued for total deregulation of big oil companies as a solution the crisis in the Gulf.
“Sharron Angle’s extreme agenda includes a deplorable indifference to the human suffering in the Gulf – both back during Hurricane Katrina and extending through today as she stands up for BP and the big oil companies,” said Reid campaign spokesman Kelly Steele. “While every single US Senator agreed to set partisan differences aside and support emergency aid to the victims of that horrific tragedy, Sharron Angle is so extreme she would have stood alone on the floor of the US Senate and, on behalf of all Nevadans, opposed relief to alleviate the massive human suffering following hurricane Katrina.”

Sharron Angle has accused Senator Reid of playing “dirty tricks” during this campaign, when in fact all he has done is repeat the words that came out of Sharron Angle’s mouth. Sharron Angle is her own worst enemy, and now she is trying to be everybody's worst enemy.
