What does Jesus say about homosexuality and gay marriage?

And God said, 'Let there be light.'

God's Commands are clear. God's Commandments are crystal clear. God's Creation, and our participation in this Creative activity, in pro-creation, is quite simple to comprehend, self-evident to minds open to honest reflection. A man plus a woman makes a child. The Universe is amazingly mathematical. Life, manifest in the birth of a child from the union of a man and a woman, is the ultimate attestation of our participation in God's Creative Love.

As darkness is a lack of light, and a lack of reflection in God's Creativity, all unions between human persons other than in a man and a woman are lacking God's Creative Love.

"But above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath, but let your “Yes” mean “Yes” and your “No” mean “No,” that you may not incur condemnation." James 5:9-12

When a man and a woman marry, they say a simple 'yes' to God's Creative plan. When a man and a woman marry, they say 'yes' to Life. 'God is Love,' and Life is His greatest gift of Love. All other unions, between same sex partners, or between multiple partners, or between and adult and a child, shout a loud 'no' to God's Creative plan, since same sex partners do not participate in God's Loving gift of Life, and multiple partner arrangements and inappropriate relationships between adults and children violate God's Loving Spirit.

"For as the heavens are high above the earth, so surpassing is his kindness toward those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he put our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:1-4, 8-9, 11-12

Catholicism does not teach the hatred of homosexual persons.

Catholicism, rather, starts from the common point of dignity, found in all human persons, from conception to natural death. This includes human persons with a homosexual inclination. Inclinations are not to be judged. Everyone has inclinations to certain sins. Why? This is part mystery, part Revelation--in fallen humanity and our inclination (concupiscence) to sin.

What is truly important, however, and what Pope Francis preaches, quite effectively, is that we are to welcome our homosexually inclined brothers and sisters back into the Church with open arms.

Does this mean that we accept homosexuality, or gay marriage? No!

It means, in the spirit of 'love the sinner, hate the sin,' that we cannot evangelize the Good News of God's Creative Love (The Theology of the Body) in male/female matrimony, within the Holy Sacrament of Marriage, if we are scaring our siblings away with hate.

As God said in the beginning, 'Let there be light...'

Jesus stated:"But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh." Mark 10:1-12

What God reveals is Light. Everything else is darkness, or nothingness. Jesus is the Word of God. What He reveals is Light and Life. Everything else is darkness, or nothingness. And Jesus repeated the Divine Will, announcing from the Creation of the world: 'God made them male and female...and the two shall become one flesh.'

All other 'unions,' no matter how they seem to be from 'love,' really originate in darkness.
