Lloyd thinks that Lorde could possibly be shooting herself in the foot by dissing so many celebrities lately.
As she told J-14 on October 16, 2013, "No way! Why does she have to go do that? She’s doing so well — what a knob. Why would she do that? She’s sitting at number one...I think she’s going to eat her words, which she obviously already has, and I think for someone who’s gaining so much success so early, she should be considering herself lucky, it takes a lot of work."
Lorde had previously taken issue with Gomez's single, "Come and Get It," arguing that the song promoted an anti-feminist message by encouraging women to take a passive role in relationships.
Gomez had defended herself by pointing out that "it's not feminism if you're tearing down another artist." Still, she took the high road by praising her music and not taking the comments to heart.
Putting herself in Gomez's shoes, Lloyd commented, "You know what though? If she said something about me, it’d be a different story. I wouldn’t stand for any of that, I’d be straight back on it."
The "Want U Back" singer praised Gomez for defending herself, though she probably would have handled things differently. As she commented, "Good for her. I probably would have used foul language."
Is Lorde shooting herself in the foot by talking smack about other celebrities? Do you agree with the way Gomez defended herself?
