What do Common Core and Agenda 21 have in common?

See also

The purpose of Common Core is very basic, which is to undermine our children’s education. This struck a cord as this writer has been thinking about how it is essentially connected to Agenda 21 which also is meant to undermine, not only education but every facet of the American family life. This has been a mind pressing subject for several years since this writer became aware of what it is and what is can do to our country.

Common Core was created in 1996 by our country’s governors and business leaders; not educators. In fact, the man known as the architect of Common Core, David Coleman designed CC as a central standardized program of education to replace our current educational system. The kicker is that although he received a scholarship to the University of Oxford, he couldn’t get a teaching job. When he applied back in New York, he was turned down. This is according to an article by PolitiChick Macey France.

So Mr. Coleman, who has no experience at teaching, yet he wants us to accept his Common Core Standards as a way of fundamentally changing our entire educational system that will benefit only the elite. It will also dumb down those who by his standards are deemed “unsustainable.” What that means is those with learning abilities and those who come from poor or low income communities will be seen as not worthy of any individual attention they may need and will be expected to pass the tests that are given on the same level for everyone else. This has caused a great deal of stress and anxiety for some children being taught in schools that have adopted Common Core Standards. It has also had a great effect on the quality of teaching that is found in some of our schools.

Then there is the illustrious Bill Gates who has been funneling big money into the coffers of the National Governors Association, the Council of the Chief School Officers, Achieve and Student Achievement Partners. He has funneled even more big bucks into various think tanks and advocacy groups in Washington. Gates has paid out almost $200 million to fund the implementation, development and evaluation of Common Core Standards and he will likely spend a whole lot more to sell it to the American people via state governments.

Common Core uses standardized tests that are given to students every year. This standardized testing is the result of George W. Bush’s ‘No Child Left Behind’ and Barack Obama’s ‘Race to the Top.’ NCLB encouraged teachers to teach to the test; not to teach from a text book that instills knowledge. This meant that the only subjects that were of any importance were reading and math. There were no longer tests for the arts, history, civics, literature, geography, science of physical education. These are all subjects that were not only required in schools prior to CC but students were also tested on their knowledge and understanding of them. They provide children with a rounded education so that they can have a solid basis on which to decide which career they want to pursue. However, with Common Core Standards of learning this will not be an option. There will be no careers for them to pursue although it will be made to seem so. When they are out of high school, they will not be prepared to enter college because they will not have had the complete basic education in order to pass the college entrance exams.

Of course, Barack Obama had to implement his own program called ‘Race to the Top.’ That sounds a lot like a description of his presidential campaign.

‘Race to the Top’ began in 2009 as a competition for states to win a piece of the $4.35 billion pie to be used to conform education to comply to Obama’s education criteria. Part of the criteria was to increase the number of charter schools and evaluate teachers according to the standardized test scores of the students. They also had to adopt ‘college and career ready standards in reading and math which were to ultimately be what is now ‘CCSS.’

Judging a teacher by how well students score on those standardized tests is not justified. Why should only teachers whose students may be more affluent get high ratings while those who teach students with disabilities or those who teach in high poverty schools get low ratings because they are not equipped to score in the high percentile of those standardized tests? There have been some great teachers in both latter situations who have done a lot or who could do a lot to help their students become successful adults.

Common Core says that it gives rigorous exams that will produce college and career readiness for a twenty-first-century global economy. Here is an example from an eleventh-grade English exam courtesy of townhall.com:

The Science of Meditation

Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years by people from a wide variety of cultures. Though traditionally a spiritual practice, meditation has more recently been identified by medical professionals as a uniquely effective way to improve mental and physical health. . . .

. . . Here is one of the most commonly taught ways to meditate: start by sitting on the floor or in a chair in a comfortable and relaxed position. Once you are comfortable, concentrate your awareness on your breathing. . . . As you focus on your breathing, notice how your mind tends to wander to other things. . . . When you notice your attention wandering, simply acknowledge this new thought, watch it go by, and then return your awareness to your breathing. Don’t try to fight against these wandering thoughts . . .

People who meditate regularly report numerous benefits. They feel calmer and more relaxed, and more prepared and clear-headed when responding to the challenges and frustrations of everyday life. These reported benefits have been supported by scientific research on meditation . . .

Sample question from the actual exam:

“How does meditation work, and what does science have to say about its effects on practitioners?” [a quotation from the selection]

What is the meaning of practitioners in the text?

a) a person engaged in the practice of a profession such as law or medicine

b) a person who does something repeatedly in order to improve

c) a person authorized to apply healing techniques to others

d) a person who engages in something specified

Common-sense questions:

Before the twenty-first-century global economy, most people handled “stress” by:

a) praying to God

b) drinking lots of whiskey

c) having intimate and prolonged conversations with their breathing

d) usually a, too often b, and never c, which could have gotten one thrown into bedlam.

The person who regularly practices the “science of meditation” is most likely:

a) a bum

b) a yogi

c) a hippie

d) a total flake

e) all of the above

It was the consensus of Washington that students’ low test scores were because of bad teachers. As a result, many experienced teachers were replaced by young inexperienced teachers. Many public schools in the poorer and minority school districts closed while more private charter schools increased. After seeing this sample from an 11th grade English exam, what do you think?

The following video will give you an idea of how children in Common Core schools are being taught “math.” http://youtu.be/ZFdeCkjwACQ

Does this look at all to you like a math class you remember as a child? It certainly doesn’t look like one from here. What’s wrong with the old fashioned addition, subtraction, multiplication tables and division? Why all these windows, sticks, dots, circles, etc? Math is working with numbers; not window and sticks. How is this preparing children to run a business, or simply take care of balancing a check book when they’re grown up. How will they know how to keep track of their money and what they spend? Is this how you want your children taught math? Well, then you know what you need to do. Go to your school board, your elected officials locally and statewide and get other parents to help. Go to a school board meeting while they still have them and demand that they do not allow CC in their school and make sure you elected state officials get the same message.

Part of the conditions given the states as part of CC was that they had to agree to collect all kinds of identifiable personal information about every student which could lead to information about their parents and their private life at home, as well. The data collected would be stored in a data warehouse.

It seems that education has become more of a business for the untrained than what we’ve come to know as a means of learning and preparation for higher learning to move on to a chosen career. Educators have had one mandate after another placed on them restricting any positive growth for students to accomplish their dreams.

The most fundamental and dangerous part of Common Core is the lack of public participation, transparency, and lack of parent/teacher involvement. However, this is not only part of CC but it is also part of Agenda 21. http://youtu.be/Mu4Sr2gTMlA

Now, in case you, the reader, are not aware of what Agenda 21 is or are not familiar with any of its concepts, this is probably a good time to give you an overview of it and then we can look at it more closely.

Just know before we get started that this is another step into the New World Order. This is no conspiracy theory; it is real, it is factual.

First off, this is not something new. It actually goes back to the 1970s but it wasn’t until the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janiero that it came alive when President Bush signed onto it. It was later signed by President Clinton and has continued to grow since then. Now this is not just a federal program under the guidance of the U.N. They knew that if Agenda 21 was going to have any significant influence on our country, it would need a core unit to connect it from city to city throughout the United States.

In other words, they would have to give it some local power. That is when they came up with an organization called the International Council of local Environmental Initiatives or ICLEI. It has not been given governmental jurisdiction; it falls under the control of the U.N. It exists in over 600 cities in the U.S. and it is spreading throughout the country at the expense of taxpayers, of course. The U.N. may have been a good thing in the beginning, but with so many power grabbers in so many areas of the world, particularly those who are part of the U.N.; it has been filled with its own corruptive forces.

Greed and power seem to be the basic roots of this U.N. Agenda 21. It is another way and a dangerous one for the U.N. to give outsiders the right to set policies for our country.

Since our founding fathers penned and adopted what we know as our Constitution, we have had no need for anyone outside our country to set any policies for us. We have done very well on our own. Now, with the push from several presidents in past decades to form a New World Order, Agenda 21 has been creeping into city after city. That’s how they proposed to establish a NWO; one city at a time.

Here, you will read a few excerpts from the original transcript of the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janiero.

Agenda 21 Preamble: “Humanity stands at a defining moment in history. We are confronted with a perpetuation of disparities between and within nations, a worsening of poverty, hunger, ill health and illiteracy and the continuing deterioration of the ecosystems on which we depend for our well-being. However, integration of environment and development concerns and greater attention to them will lead to the fulfillment of basic needs, improved living standard for all, better protected and managed ecosystems and a safer, more prosperous future. No nation can achieve this on its own but together we can - in a global partnership for sustainable development.

Agenda 21 is a dynamic programme. It will be carried out by the various actors according to the different situations, capacities and priorities of countries and regions in full respect of all principles contained in the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development. -----This process marks the beginning of a new global partnership for sustainable development.

Economic policies of individual countries and international economic relations both have great relevance to sustainable development. ----The policies and measures needed to create an international environment that is strongly supportive of national development efforts are thus vital. This is just a tiny bit from the Earth Summit in 1992.

Sustainable Development is a system of integration of economic, social and environmental policies which include land use, education, and population control.

It is set up to control the environment by redistributing wealth, doing away with private ownership of property, taking away national sovereignty and controlling healthcare by making it universal and completely under government jurisdiction. In other words, we will have no say about anything in our lives or that of our children.

If people continue in their complacency and let the government continue as it has been, we will eventually come to a “point of no return.” When and if we get to that point, our country is toast. It will no longer be a nation among nations or a shining light to the oppressed. We will be the oppressed; even more so, perhaps than the people under Hitler.

Are some of you reading this thinking, no, that could never happen to the U.S.A.? It may not be something you want to hear or even think about, but rest assured that if you and I and the rest of America don’t take what’s happening with Agenda 21 and ICLIE seriously, it will, along with Common Core, take away everything that makes our country great and then we will be carted off to FEMA camps where we will either be enslaved or eliminated. http://youtu.be/bl_xdDSjjhs

You know, it’s heart-breaking to write about this but it’s something that needs to be done. There are others out there trying to do the same thing; educate people about the dangers that face our country. It would be nice to not have to write about these things, but if we don’t have writers and talk radio and TV shows to put this out there, then how are people like you going to know the truth? Our government and especially the U.N. don’t want us to know the truth because they know that if we do, we are not going to silently sit by and watch them take over everything we have and hold dear to us and we certainly aren’t going to let them program our children to be mindless robots with no thoughts of their own.

Of course it’s scary and sounds a bit like a science fiction horror movie, but this is anything but fiction. It is all part of a plan to take away our freedoms, our intelligence and our individuality.

Ok, let’s go on to what the goals are for Agenda 21. First of all, understand that it is a “Sustainable Development Action” plan and here are some of their objectives.

Everything that is considered part of Sustainable Development will be under the guise of green jobs, green energy, green this, green that. The truth of the matter is that the government will have complete control of our lands, water, how and where we live, even what food we have access to. They will take a careful inventory of the world’s resources so they will know how to take complete control over everyone and everything. That is also including animals, minerals, plants, energy production, education and any and all construction in the future. They want to limit the size of families. Are we going to be another China? It’s possible.

Another thing is they want the government to have complete control of the fisheries and harvest from farms. Now are you ready for this? They also want to set aside 50 percent of America’s land as “wildlands” where no human can enter. It would be designated for animals only. Anything that will be built, should Agenda 21 take over, will be decided by the leaders or leader of the New World Order. http://youtu.be/Eq6cRxhX1NM

We will no long be a republic, but we will be ruled under tyranny in the highest degree. These people aren’t satisfied to rule a country; they want the entire world and right now that looks pretty likely if things are allowed to continue with no action from the people. Tyranny and a New World Order may be coming our way.

Are you getting the picture now? If they get control over all these areas, whose in control of us? By us is meant human beings around the world. We will have no ability to choose anything for ourselves or our children.

Think about this. What do you think will happen to those who are born with birth defects, those disabled because of an accident or illness? Do you actually think that in a New World Order, they would be cared for or even that parents would be allowed to care for them? What about the elderly who can no longer take care of themselves? Remember, we will become slaves, all of us, and anything or anyone who interferes with their plans will be dealt with and we will have no say as to how they do it.

My fellow Americans, our government leaders on all levels are trying desperately to keep our focus away from Common Core, Agenda 21 and ICLEI. Are we going to let them win and take over our country and ultimately the world? If they can get the greatest nation on earth in their back pocket, the rest will be a piece of cake for them.

Tell me, how many times do you read in the news or see it covered anywhere in the media? You only hear about it if you research it, google it, or watch the videos made by people who are concerned and want to educate others.

Please don’t wait for things to change. Oh, they will, but without involvement and action on our part, these things will continue until we are all under the control of the leaders or leader of the New World Order with no way out.

Any time you hear the word sustainable that should raise a red flag because with Agenda 21, if it’s not sustainable, it’s not useful.

Remember the mention of land takeover earlier in this article? Oh, you may say, well I have my own land; had it for years.” Well that could change. It is the purpose of Agenda 21 to have complete control over our lives. Have you noticed the rise in “mixed use” developments in cities across the country? http://youtu.be/kPphL13VUDo

What that means is that these developments house retail stores on the main level and the other two levels house residents. These developments are funded with “Redevelopment Agency Funds. Where does that money come from? Here’s a surprise; your property taxes, of course.

Is your town or city under a strain of not having enough money in the General Funds for police and firemen? Are roads not being fixed, parks not being kept up, hospitals being closed? Do you want to guess where those funds are going? Yep, right into the Redevelopment Agency Funds. That seems to explain why so much money is being wasted and why there’s no money for those things that are important for any well-run community. You see, our safety and welfare are not on a list of priorities with Agenda 21 and ICLEI.

According to the aforementioned article, redevelopment is one of Agenda 21’s tools that will be used to remake American cities. Ever hear of “eminent domain?” If these developments go bankrupt and are no longer being filled with retail stores and residents, and the money isn’t there to keep up with replacements and repairs that may be needed elsewhere, the entire city becomes what would be contrived as a blighted area and lacking in sufficient police and fire protection, the cities would have the right to eminent domain and the property owners would have no say. The city would then either turn it over to or sell it to a private developer. The property taxes are then taken from the General Fund for the developer to build low income housing and mixed use properties.

In essence, they are trying to convince us that we don’t need privacy. We need to be in a more socialized atmosphere where the Condos Homeowners Association Board will tell you what you can or cannot do. Basically they are telling us we don’t need the freedom of owning a house of our own. In fact they want to eliminate private property ownership completely; no single family homes will be allowed. The whole premise, though they will deny it, is that people don’t need to own property and with Agenda 21, they will take all the rural and suburban property and people will literally be pushed into crowded city apartments.

So then if you want to stay a private home owner and they want you to move into the city even if it’s in a crowded apartment, what happens? It’s simple; they make you do it. How, you ask? What happens if the cities become too crowded? Have you heard about FEMA camps? They have been building them all over the country and if you see any of them, you would notice that they are surrounded by barbed wire so that no one can get out. They are usually located near railroad tracks, as well. Does that strike you as a little strange? Most of these camps aren’t readily visible to the public; some are masked my other structures so as to not draw attention to them. What do you think will happen to those who will be carted off to these camps? Are you aware that part of Agenda 21 is to depopulate the country and other parts of the world? . It’s actually at work now through our food and water supplies. The FDA is allowing chemicals to be used that they say are safe but after investigations, they have been proven otherwise and yet they are still in our food and drinks. Many of them cause cancer and other debilitating and often deadly diseases. http://youtu.be/LWbnH7oqmqo

Have you noticed how many regulations have been put in place as to how rural land and water can be used? In fact, there are so many restrictions place on rural land and water that it’s becoming difficult for farmers to live off of their land like they used to. The whole premise of Agenda 21 is to remove people from the rural and suburban areas and crowd them into cities.

Even transportation will be affected. We will not be able to have cars; we will be expected to walk, ride a bike or use public transportation. If any are allowed to have a car it will be one approved by the government. Did you know that there are bicycle advocacy groups that are becoming very powerful? With less space for cars, there is more room for sustainable development.

Remember when people were buying houses like crazy? It didn’t matter if they had bad credit or no credit. Banks were saying, “Come on, we have a deal that is right for you no matter what your credit rating.” People were being offered amazing deals so they could move into their own homes and what happened? They took the bait. They were lulled into a false sense of security and found out that they were in debt way over their heads and couldn’t handle the payments. These people lost their homes and went bankrupt. There you have it, folks. This was all part of their plan all along and so many people fell for it hook, line and sinker.

You see, the people behind all of this know perfectly well how to systematically make people think they’re getting a good deal when all they are really getting is the wool pulled over their eyes.

Do you see where this is all heading? Bankrupt the people, take away their financial security, promise them something they want and make it look really good. Then see to it that it all falls apart and they have nothing left. Now you are in their grasp; you have lost your financial independence and so now they can come in for the kill.

Agenda 21 is being orchestrated right in front of our noses. The focus on more urbanizing, closing down factories, setting energy consumption to what it was maybe 40 or 50 years ago, allowing unregulated immigration so that living standards are lowered and there are no longer any local resources left.

This all has the earmarks of Communism. Do you think the U.N. is devoid of Communism? It has never really died as some seem to think. It has only been hibernating for a while until the time was right. Guess what? This looks like the time for it to come back in full force and it will if we, as Americans stand by and do nothing. This is especially true if we stay away from the polls and don’t vote on Election Day.

We aren’t going to be in complete agreement with the candidates running for office but we need to do everything we can to get those who most closely fit what we want in our government. Remember, we are voting for the future of our posterity.

Do you not see how the objectives of Agenda 21 and Common Core pretty much echo everything we’ve already seen from Communism during the days of Hitler?

Has it ever crossed your mind that all of these condos being built are not just to modernize cities? What it is doing is to encourage people that they should live in these condos in the city where they don’t have to worry about taking care of a yard. They really don’t want you living in your own home or growing your own food. There have been stories about people who were told they couldn’t grow vegetables or fruit on their own property or share it with their neighbors. Of course you don’t hear about these things, they are always buried somewhere where people aren’t likely to see them. If you search the net, you will find stories like these about real people.

So what do Common Core and Agenda 21 have in common? 1. No public participation. 2. Control. 3. Some form of monitoring devices. 4. Benefit the elite. 5. Sustainability

America, this isn’t fiction and to cover everything in this article about Common Core, Agenda 21 and ICLEI would be impossible. That’s why this writer included some valuable videos that can explain it more fully for you to understand and hopefully to make you so outraged that you will do whatever you can to help stop it before it becomes a complete reality. Don’t think you can’t do anything; you can. You can educate your family, friends and neighbors. Some won’t listen; they will call you a conspiracy theorist. Let them. Are you willing to sit by and do nothing while this government and the U.N. continue with their plans to bring about a New World Order? The purpose of Common Core is very basic, which is to undermine our children’s education.
