Tom DeLay on "Jimmy Kimmel Live"

"'Dancing with the Stars' claimed two victims  tonight, actress Debi Mazar and former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay," stated Jimmy Kimmel at the top of his show Tuesday night, previewing what was to come on "'Jimmy Kimmel Live." Kimmel picked the clip of Tom DeLay being scolded by his partner Cheryl Burke for looking like a robot when he danced as his show's teaser.

Tom DeLay Leaves "Dancing with the Stars"
As readers know, in Tom DeLay leaves "Dancing with the Stars;" safe but injured, DeLay announces DWTS departure I reported that Christian personality Tom DeLay decided to dance on Monday night's show even with stress fractures in both feet. Tonight, however, DeLay made the tough decision to leave the show because his injuries prevented him from rehearsing as much as he needed. This made him Kimmel's next victim along with Debi Mazur who was voted off tonight.

DeLay & "the 'Dancing With the Stars' Curse"
Tom DeLay is one of many many contestants have been injured, and blogs refer to the "the 'Dancing With the Stars' curse." Escorted out in a red wheelbarrow wearing velcro supportive shoes (which may have been part of the braces he must wear), DeLay told Kimmel, "I have a stress fracture in each one of them" pointing out it just wasn't cool for a boy from Texas to break his feet dancing.

What Did Tom DeLay Reveal to Jimmy Kimmel?

DeLay continued, "They put you in these Latin shoes with high heels..." and Kimmel interrupted him to say DeLay might have good cause to sue the show. DeLay quickly retorted, "I don't like lawyers."

Kimmel asked DeLay's partner, Cheryl Burke, what she first thought when she discovered Tom DeLay was her new dance partner. "Did you think you were being punished?" he asked.

"That's what I thought at the beginning," Burke said with a laugh as she went on to say how much she enjoyed working with DeLay and how much she admired him.

Kimmel teased DeLay several times about his dancing, claiming that he and DeLay were probably evenly matched as bad dancers, and at one point jesting that for a Republican, DeLay was as light on his feet as an elephant.

DeLay took it in stride, but it is obvious he takes some pride in what he learned and accomplished on "Dancing with the Stars." After one of Kimmel's jabs DeLay laughingly asked Kimmel, "But can you shake your booty like I can?"

Kimmel asked DeLay if he got a lot of mockery from fellow politicians to which DeLay responded, "Actually they weren't very surprised. If you knew me you'd know I like to have fun; I like to push the envelope," admitting he shocked a few people. He added, "I'm still upset you don't think I can dance!"

Asked whether or not DeLay thought he would continue dancing, DeLay exclaimed, "Of course I will, I have a daughter and a wife!"

Jimmy Kimmel has a bet riding on Donny Osmond winning this season's "Dancing with the Stars" competition, so he asked DeLay if he thought Osmond would win. Ever the diplomat, DeLay replied that he thinks Osmond has a great chance but that the whole cast is "a great cast." DeLay also revealed he doesn't bet.

Then it was time for Guillermo to burn the dance shoes as Tom DeLay said one last good-bye to "Dancing with the Stars."
