Michele Bachman is one of several Republican candidates currently running for United States president. Although she has the credentials to be president, Bachmann may not be the best choice for Los Angeles.
Aside from having a conservative Republican president rule over a liberal region, Bachmann does not have the "big city" experience necessary to understand the culture of L.A. Michele currently serves as Congresswoman for Minnesota. The county of Los Angeles is more populated than the entire state, having over 9 million citizens compared with Minnesota's 5 million inhabitants. Out of the 5 million Minnesota residents, less than half are of African American or Latin descent. While past presidents have experienced success after coming from small towns, Bachmann may not understand the diversity of Los Angeles.
Although the saying calls for citizens to ask what they can do for government, Los Angeles residents should ask what Michele Bachmann can do for them.
