The Dream
A woman dreamed she was shopping and the checkouts counters were outside. She ran back into the store for an item she forgot, leaving her purse on the ground. When she returned to the line it was pouring down raining. Remembering her purse, she searched the area, only to find that it was open and all her money (thousands of dollars) was not in the purse. However, it was floating on top of the purse, shredded and totally destroyed by the rain. What does this mean?
The Interpretation
To dream about shopping indicates the dreamer is searching or seeking something. In this case, the dreamer is buying things outside of her budget. This shows up in the fact that the checkout counters were "outside" the store and because the dreamer went back inside the store to get one more item. The dreamer is using shopping to satisfy another longing.
To dream of losing or misplacing one's purse is a sign of losing one's identity because of the things usually in a purse such as a driver's license, social security card, library card, credit cards and other forms of identification.
In this case, none of those things were missing; only money. This means the dreamer needs to focus more on the stewardship of money, budgets, and financial matters.
"Returning to the line" means the dreamer should seek a balance and stay in line or within her means. Having thousands of dollars being shredded and floating on top of the purse shows the dreamer might have money, but she is not using it wisely. Since she is not using it wisely, she just might lose it all.
