Cold Front downs temperatures throughout the day on Friday
Related Articles
While severe weather was the main story on Friday, the drastic temperature changes behind a strong cold front had to be the other.
After beginning the day abnormally warm with temperatures in the 70s statewide, temperatures dropped dramatically throughout the day as the front progressed east.
Temperatures changes of nearly 20 degrees within a hour or less occurred as the frontal boundary progressed across the state.
As a result, the high temperatures of the day were experienced during the morning and early afternoon.
So if you did not pay attention to the weather forecast and went to work or school dressed based on the morning weather conditions, you definitely got a shock once you left work and school with much colder weather conditions in place.
(Note: Cold fronts with sharp temperature changes across the state become more and more common as the Fall and Winter Seasons progress)
