Westwood High School held Senior Night on February 18, 2014, at a home game against Fort Lee High School. Senior captain Jess Potestivo got to step on the court one last time in her high school career.

When Potestivo tore her ACL and meniscus during the first round game of the Bergen County Tournament, she was told she would not be able to play again for at least another six months. News such as this devastated her, her family, her friends, and her team. Many people predicted Westwood as "out" in the next round. Westwood surged forward, making it all the way to the Elite 8 Round of the tournament before losing a close game to Immaculate Conception.

On Senior Night, Potestivo was surprised with the opportunity to start the game. Jaide Hinds-Clarke tipped the ball to Potestivo, who caught it, dribbled down court, and took one long-range three point shot before the game was stopped and she was subbed out.

Potestivo explained that this was, "the most emotional event of my entire life. I was so excited to see my name on the white board again in the starting five, but when I actually stepped on the court, none of it felt real. All I could think about was how much I would give to be on that court without a brace on my leg... so bittersweet."

Fort Lee was a big part in making this a possibility. "They're an awesome team. They all came up to me and wished me good luck (in surgery) before and after the game. They also gave me a card," shared Potestivo.

Westwood played an outstanding game. They won 56-32. Senior small forward Amanda Sonntag had 2 assists and 2 rebounds. She was a great contributor to the team over the last four years in rebounding and defense. Senior shooting guard Rachel Mosca had 1 assist, 1 rebound, and 17 points. She was a strong three-point shooter for Westwood. Senior small forward Lauren Marsiglia had 1 assist, 4 rebounds, and 6 points. She contributed to Westwood with strong passing and rebounding. Potestivo, Sonntag, Mosca, and Marsiglia will be missed.
