Westwood Gardens is having a series of spring gardening workshops at their main location in Rathdrum.

This Saturday, May 3rd 2014, at 1 p.m., will be ‘Perennials in Containers’. Most people use mainly annuals for container plantings, but some perennials give all season color and form to containers. Learn how to use them from this class!

‘Mother’s Day Moss Purse’ is the workshop for Saturday, May 10th at 1 p.m.. A wire frame lined with moss has plantings in the opening of the ‘purse’ and a big, bright bow that makes it present material.

On Saturday, May 17th at 1 p.m. is ‘Hanging Basket Workshop’. Select your own flowers- or vegetables and herbs!- to fill a basket.

‘Food Revolution Day’ is on Saturday, May 24th at 1 p.m. and you’ll learn different ways to plant your food garden- and plant your own take home garden.

Learn to make a ‘Fairy Garden’ on Saturday, May 31st at 1 p.m.. Create a dish garden with miniature plants and furnishings for indoors or outside.

All workshops are at 15825 N. Westwood Dr, Rathdrum, ID 83858 (behind Super 1). They are open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., April through October. For more information, call 208-687-5952.
