Westminster PetSmart has partnered with Boulder Humane Society

Though a bit late on reporting, PetSmart in Westminster, CO has partnered with the Humane Society of Boulder in an effort to adopt out more cats and dogs in need of a forever home. (circa September 2011)

Located in the Walnut Creek Shopping Center off of Church Ranch and I-36 in Westminster, PetSmart Charities has had a build out in the rear of the store to house numerous cats and dogs up for adoption. Upon entering the PetSmart, most people are probably unaware that on any given day, there are cats and dogs in the back of the store waiting for someone to love them and take them home.

The adoption center is in the very far rear of the store in the left hand corner. By either walking along the wall with the Pet Hotel to the very back, or heading straight back towards Banfield and hooking a left, you will run right into the adoption center.

The adoption center is run by volunteers who so generously donate their time to take care of the animals and handle adoptions. Visitors are free to enter the cat room and dog room to meet all of the animals up for adoption.

The Humane Society of Boulder has a brilliant method of making sure every animal gets "face time" to have a chance to be adopted. Animals are rotated every week or so if they have not been adopted at any given location so that perhaps someone visiting another adoption location will find their new best friend.

Stop by the Westminster PetSmart any time 7 days a week to meet and fall in love with a new furry friend!
