In a town where dog park is all too synonymous with muddy paddocks of trampled land, Westminster Hills Dog Park is breath of fresh, wide open air. The land, maintained by the City of Westminster, is 420 acres (partially fenced) of cottonwood trees, grassy knolls and watery trenches for dogs and man to roam. On windy days the first small summit west of the parking lot near 105th Ave and Simms is bitterly exposed, but on most other days it offers sprawling 360° views from Denver to the Flatirons. Along with Chatfield in Littleton and Cherry Creek in Denver, Westminster Hills Dog Park is one of the top dog parks in the Denver metro area. Visit often and stay long for there are miles of trials to explore at Westminster Hills leading all the way up to the Rockies themselves.
