Elvis, a black and tan coonhound, from Hot Springs, Arkansas, won Best of Breed in the prestigious Westminster Dog Show Monday in New York. The dog show continues Tuesday night with the crowning of "Best in Show."

Elvis, whose full name is Southwind's Walking in Memphis, didn't win the Best in Hound, which would have qualified him for a shot at the top dog prize. That honor went to a Scottish deer hound. Other contenders for Best in Show include a Pekingnese, a Chinese Sharpei, which was the first of its breed to win the nonsporting group, and a bearded collie.

The two-year-old Elvis is owned by Ray Ann Reynolds and Steve Lowthian of Pearcy, Arkansas. Brian Reynolds of Hot Springs is his handler.

Winners will be chosen in the sporting, working and terrier groups Tuesday night and all Best in Group winners will contend for Best in Show.

The show will air live on the USA Network at 7 p.m. CST.
