Westfield woman faces animal cruelty charges for pouring bleach on dog

A Westfield, Mass. woman is facing felony animal cruelty charges after allegedly pouring bleach over her boyfriend's dog and leaving the dog to soak in it all day until the dog's owner came home reported wwlp.com.

In the "love me and love my dog" mantra of animal lovers everywhere, apparently the girlfriend didn't like her boyfriend's Jack Russell terrier, and allegedly would kick or molest the active little pooch whenever the situation arose. When the dog finally bit the girlfriend for obvious reasons, the woman gave her boyfriend the ultimate choice - "me or the dog."

The boyfriend chose his dog.

The director of animal control, Kenneth Frazer, was informed by the dog's owner about what had happened. When the owner came home, the dog's feet were extremely irritated, but after proper veterinary care, the dog is stated to be doing fine.

The dog's owner has pressed charges against his girlfriend. At this time the district attorney's office is investigating.
