While they kept it close early, the Western Michigan Broncos failed to keep pace with MAC opponent Kent State and fell to the Golden Flashes 69-39 Wednesday night.

Bronco forward Ebony Cleary was the biggest reason her team stayed close in the first half. Her aggressive post play controlled the clock and scored hard-earned points, as she finished with 12 points to lead the Broncos. But Cleary's effort could not overcome her team's 31.1 percent shooting percentage.

Kent state was led by Yoschica Spears, who finished with 19 points.

With the win, the Golden Flashes improve to 15-8 (8-3 conference), while the Broncos fall to 7-17 (2-9 conference).
