The Westboro Baptist Church is saying that the flu outbreak that is causing deaths in some states, was sent to us from God as a punishment for our sins.
Right now there is a flu epidemic across the nation and many states are reporting higher then normal flu outbreaks and deaths associated with the flu then ever before.
Boston Mayor, Thomas Menino even declared a public health emergency and is offering free flu shots to those that have not had them yet. 700 cases of the flu have been reported there compared to less than 70 from last year.
Westboro Baptist Church posted on their WBC Twitter account;
"Evidence USA is #NotBlessedJustCursed: at least 5 deaths in Illinois alone as hospitals scramble to keep up w/flu patients. Deut 28:60 time!"
Known for picketing and protesting at funerals all over, especially at funerals of service people, and where mass tragedies have occurred, Westboro believes that God punishes us with certain acts because of the way we handle things.
They blamed President Obama for the Sandy Hook Massacre because he allowed same sex marriage in the state of Connecticut, and intended on picketing and protesting at the funerals of the 26 victims who were killed December 14 in the tragic shooting.
They are even saying God caused house fires that killed children in Kentucky and Georgia recently, and that because of our sins, kids are dying;

There is even a White House petition asking Obama to designate the church as a hate group, and it became the biggest online petition ever.
Westboro believes that with the outbreak of the flu getting worse, God is letting us know that he will continue to punish us for the sins we commit.

With the flu season in full swing and it being worse then ever, right now is the time to make sure you get your flu shot and that you take any and all precautions to stay healthy.
Some ER's are even turning away people because of being so crowded with flu patients.
