Fred Phelps, the founder and pastor of the Westboro Baptist Church, may have had a homosexual encounter at West Point. According to a March 14 report by Gay Star News, a former Westboro Baptist Church member has come forward, exposing the possibility Fred Phelps had gay sex while at West Point.
Lauren Drain, a former member of the Westboro Baptist Church who escaped from the cult, believes that Fred Phelps had a homosexual encounter during his short time at West Point. She claims that it was Fred Phelps dream to be in the military. He went to West Point, but was only there a small amount time.
“As much as I hate the Westboro Baptist Church, I certainly pray he wasn't rape while at West Point,” Deborah Mills, from Oklahoma City, said. “Even Fred Phelps doesn't deserve that.”
After Fred Phelps left West Point, he made the decision to become a preacher. Not just any preacher, but a preacher that would mount a “crusade against sexual immorality.” Lauren Drain thinks something happened at West Point to make Fred Phelps change his life.
“It would be so over the top, just like the Westboro Baptist Church, if he fell in love with a man at West Point,” Mills continued. “[Fred] Phelps might have gotten his heart broken by a man he was in love with. That could explain why he hates homosexuals so much.”
Lauren Drain believes that Fred Phelps reacts too strongly to homosexuality for something not to have happened while he was at West Point. She is convinced that Fred Phelps is either gay or had a negative homosexual experience.
