Wednesday, Westboro Baptist Church tweeted that they plan to protest Steve Jobs’ funeral. The Kansas based, Westboro Baptist Churchis known for their anti-homosexual protests at funerals, particularly US soldiers and celebrities. They also recently protested at Elizabeth Edward’s funeral and stated that it was because of who she associated with while she was alive.
In February of 2008, the Westboro Baptist Church picketed the LDS Church in Salt Lake City, Utah during Gordon B. Hinckley’s funeral.
Ironically, Westboro Baptist Church sent the Twitter message out Wednesday night via Twitter for iPhone.
Margie Phelps is a lawyer for the Westboro Baptist Church, and the daughter of the church’s founder, and she tweeted (from her iPhone): “Westboro will picket his funeral. He had a huge platform; gave God no glory & taught sin.”

The US Supreme Court ruled in an 8-1 decision that the protests conducted by the Westboro Baptist Church are protected under free speech.
The Supreme Court judges upheld a lower-court decision that will overturn the $5 million judgment against the church and in favor of a father of a dead Marine that the Westboro Baptist Church protested at.
