The Westboro Baptist Church is upset with Boy Scouts. It’s doubtful WBC members will be buying any of those overpriced popcorn tins from their local troops. The Boy Scouts are reconsidering their policy of excluding gays, according to a Jan. 28 CNN report.
WBCSays, the official Twitter account of the WBC, tweeted their disagreement with this on Jan. 28. The tweet said, “Don’t wanna hamper molesters!” They also included a photo of someone picketing outside a Boy Scouts of America building. The picket held signs that said “God hates fags” and “Fags doom nations.” The caption under the photo alleged that the Boy Scouts have been covering up sexual abuse.
While some public figures, including Chuck Norris, agree with the WBC that homosexuals should be kept out of scouting, many others are fighting for gays to be allowed to participate. Barrack Obama and Mitt Romney both support removing the restriction, for example.
