Members of this so-called church were in Annapolis this morning protesting same sex marriage in our state before toddling off to Towson in Baltimore Country.
All four of them. The counter protest was 62 times bigger.
Yawn. Who cares? So what?
Enough ink about these folks. And while we are advising the media about who to ignore, include: Donald Trump. And Charlie Sheen. Kim Kardashian. Et. al.
Sheen had a misstep a few days back by using an old and ugly epithet. He claims he meant to say maggots. Again, not important.
This column digresses.
And no, it is not about putting vitriolic or fetid celebrities in the same category as Westboro. Famous folks have to pay taxes. Lower percentage but still something in the federal kitty.
The media, this column included although there are demands contained within, have to stop providing the publicity that this demented group seeks and needs as certain as air and water.
There must be two actions taken against WBC.
First, determine that they are not dangerous. And do so each and every time they show up somewhere. Frisk them and then use metal detectors. What ever needs to be done to insure the public safety. Anyone have a Second Amendment problem with that?
Simultaneously, strip them of them their tax-exempt status.
They are a hate group or a demented posse soaked in prejudice. This is not a church.
TAX THEM. And perhaps the Mormons as well.
